WHAT’S YOUR MISSION

June 12, 2017

At MISSION we always say that everyone has a story. But stories are often meant to be shared. Part of redefining group fitness for us is finding the balance between respecting the space we need as individuals to feel safe, and supporting one another in the endeavor to overcome challenges. The reasons we walk into the studio every day are different, sometimes it’s to find solace, and sometimes it’s to find understanding. As a result, we’ve started “WHAT’S YOUR MISSION?”, a way for our members to tell their stories, and connect with others through narratives and photographs. Assuming that your story is somehow more meaningful, or more singular, or more anything, is a trick we play on ourselves when things become overwhelming. Hearing the voices and the stories of others only brings us closer to a deeper understanding of our own journey.

PATRICK GRAHAM:

Meet Patrick. A Rye kid with mucho love for his family, Pat started coming to MISSION this fall when his sister encouraged him to take a risk. Feeling unhealthy and inactive, Patrick’s first experience at the studio was a Cycle: BEATS class. And well, the rest is history. An obsession, or addiction, as he refers to it, Patrick found that getting lost in the music and being pushed to take it one step further every class, was the driver he needed to change his mental and physical state. When asked “Why do you come to MISSION?”, Patrick says that he obviously wanted to be more active and healthier, but mostly, he wanted to be happier. Surrounded by others but not feeling vulnerable, he is EMPOWERED and inspired by the support of the instructor team.

Patrick is 30 and a sales rep for the NH Lottery. He has some vices. He is not there yet. But his attitude is what inspired us. We look to connect with him just as much as he looks to connect with others.

We asked a few hard questions:

“What’s your bucket list destination?” IRELAND
“What’s your favorite activity? (Other than Tapping it Back of course..) SPENDING TIME WITH FAMILY
“Who are your favorite instructors?” MINDY AND ERIN H. FOR PUSHING ME AND FOR ALLOWING ME TO GET LOST IN THE RHYTHM
“What’s your MISSION for 2017?” NAIL. EVERY. MOVE.

Pat is coming in hot in 2017, and we couldn’t be prouder of him and his MISSION.
